Short answer
WebP can reduce download size while retaining transparency.
What to check
Review browser support, alpha quality, dimensions, and visual comparison. Check transparency, color profiles, bit depth, dimensions, sharp edges, animation, metadata, and output compression after conversion.
Using png.now
Use the PNG TO WEBP converter, keep the source, and inspect the downloaded result before sharing it.
